Jefferson Lab – National Particle Accelerator Project
Jefferson Lab is expanding its Particle Accelerator and constructing a new experimental hall and supporting facilities at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility. A $310 million upgrade, this project will provide an international community of physicists with a cutting-edge facility for studying the basic building blocks of the visible universe.
MSTB Cx Group has been chosen to perform the whole building Commissioning for this project. This consists of 20,000 square feet of new facilities that will include Hall D, an 8,000- square-foot facility that will be Jefferson Lab’s fourth experimental hall, as well as a 250-foot extension of Jefferson Lab’s underground accelerator tunnel and new roads and utilities to support the new experimental hall.
Jefferson Lab is one of 17 Department of Energy national laboratories. It is managed and operated by Jefferson Science Associates, LLC for the DOE Office of Science.
